Here at Misty Daydream, we love nothing more than seeing people have fun with our balloons! We are often asked how to pump helium into balloons, so we thought we would put together a quick guide.
How to Use a Balloon Pump to Inflate and Seal Latex Balloons?
Locate the aperture at the tail or bottom of the balloon. Press the balloon’s opening against the pump’s nozzle until it seems airtight. Hold the balloon in place while you squeeze the nozzle to pump helium into it. Once the required inflation level has been reached, remove the tail from the nozzle while pinching it shut so that no helium escapes.
Tie a knot on the tail of the balloon while pinching it shut. Tie a ribbon slightly above the knot and use a balloon weight to keep it from floating away.
How to Use a Balloon Pump to Inflate and Seal Foil/Mylar Balloons?
Locate the aperture in the balloon’s tail or neck. Press the balloon’s opening against the pump’s nozzle until it seems airtight. Hold the balloon in position while pumping helium into it with the nozzle until the desired inflation level is reached.
Inflate the foil balloons using self-sealing valves situated in the balloon necks. When the balloons are fully inflated, just remove the helium inflation nozzle, and the balloons will shut themselves. Tie a ribbon right below the valve and secure it with a balloon weight.
